Another private psychiatric hospital is in the works for the
Sacramento region, offering evidence of the demand for such
Universal Health Services, a public company based in King of
Prussia, Penn., plans a 102-bed hospital on a vacant parcel in
the Orchard Creek Business Park in Rocklin. The company already
operates two other behavioral health hospitals in the region:
Heritage Oaks and Sierra Vista. (Sacramento Business Journal)
Heritage Oaks Hospital has opened an outpatient center in West
Sacramento designed to provide mental health patients an
alternative to inpatient care.
The new program opened at 2945 Ramco Street in West Sacramento
late last month. It provides a range of services to keep patients
out of the hospital or help them transition from hospital care to

nation’s top performers in improving care in key areas in 2012.
The Joint Commission, the leading accrediting agency for heath
care organizations and programs in the U.S., recognizes
facilities for top performance in using clinical guidelines shown
to improve care in categories that include heart attack, heart
failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, stroke and
venous thromboembolism, or inpatient psychiatric services.
